AI interview assistants fall into three groups: live copilots that draft answers during the call, coding assistants that read problems from your screen, and practice tools that only help you prepare. The right choice depends on which of those you need, what platform you use, and how long your job search will last.
Disclosure: CamCue is our product. Information about other tools comes from their public pricing pages, linked in the table and checked on October 19, 2026. Prices change often, so confirm them before you subscribe.

How we compared them
- Live help: does the tool draft answers during the call, and from what: the transcript only, or also your CV and the job description?
- Inputs: spoken questions, on-screen questions, or both.
- Platforms: native Mac and Windows apps, and which chips and system versions.
- Screen sharing: whether hiding from a shared screen is included or a premium add-on.
- Cost for your search: a three-interview week and a three-month search cost very different amounts depending on billing.
1. CamCue
CamCue is a desktop app for Apple Silicon Macs and Windows PCs. Listen transcribes the interviewer from your computer’s audio and drafts an answer when it hears a complete question. Capture reads the whole screen and Select reads one area, which covers written case questions and coding problems. In Interview mode, answers draw on your CV, the job description, and your instructions.
- Choose it if: you want answers grounded in your own experience, you use Mac or Windows, and you need help for days or weeks rather than a year.
- Limitations: no Intel Mac, Windows on ARM, or mobile app. Stealth depends on the meeting app, so test what others see.
2. Final Round AI
Final Round AI combines a live Interview Copilot with preparation features such as job description parsing and practice interviews. Live sessions need Pro, advertised from US$25 per month, with the lowest price tied to longer billing. The free plan covers preparation only.
- Choose it if: you want one subscription for a long search with both prep and live help.
- Watch out for: the commitment behind the headline price. See Final Round AI alternatives and Final Round AI vs Cluely.
3. Verve AI
Verve AI offers a free plan with three copilot sessions a month of up to 15 minutes, plus five mock interviews. Standard extends sessions to 60 minutes and Pro to 90 minutes with unlimited sessions. It lists Mac, Windows, and iPhone apps.
- Choose it if: you want to try live help before paying, or you want mock interviews in the same tool.
4. ParakeetAI
ParakeetAI sells live help by the call: one credit costs US$38 and covers about an hour, credit packs bring that down to about US$12, and unlimited costs US$78 per week or US$149.90 per month. It supports more than 50 languages and runs on Mac, Windows, and in Chrome.
- Choose it if: you have one or two interviews, or interview in a language other than English.
5. LockedIn AI
LockedIn AI offers Unlimited, Credits, and Lifetime plans, with general and professional variants, a money-back guarantee, and credits that do not expire. Its pricing page does not show prices without interaction, so compare the checkout total for the period you need. See LockedIn AI alternatives.
6. Cluely
Cluely is a general meeting assistant with live answers and notes. Pro is US$19.99 per month, and hiding the app from screen sharing requires Pro + Undetectability at US$149.99 per month. Our Cluely alternatives guide covers the trade-offs.
7. Pluely
Pluely runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux and is free if you connect your own AI provider keys. Pro plans with bundled AI and speech-to-text cost US$15 or US$35 per month, and a US$120 one-time license keeps your own keys.
- Choose it if: you want control over the AI provider, or you use Linux.
8. Interview Coder
Interview Coder focuses on technical interviews: it reads problems, transcribes the interviewer, and drafts solutions on Mac and Windows. The app is free to download, but AI features require Monthly Pro at US$299 per month with 1,000 credits, or Lifetime Pro at US$799.
- Watch out for: the price relative to general tools with a coding mode. See Interview Coder alternatives.
9. Hedy
Hedy is a meeting coach that summarizes and suggests during calls. The free plan covers five hours a month, and Pro costs US$12.99 per month. It is a good fit for notes and coaching, less so for drafting interview answers from your CV.
Which one fits you?
- A few interviews this week: short billing or credits. CamCue’s 3-day and weekly PRO, or a ParakeetAI credit.
- A long search with prep: Final Round AI or Verve AI.
- Technical rounds: a tool that reads code from the screen. Compare CamCue’s Coding Interview mode with Interview Coder.
- Budget of zero: start with the free AI interview assistants.
- Comparing SubcueAI: see SubcueAI alternatives.
- By platform: see the guides for Mac and Windows.
Before you use any of them live
Many employers forbid live AI help, and some say so in writing: Amazon’s recruiting guidance asks candidates not to use generative AI during interviews unless it is explicitly allowed. Read Is using AI in interviews cheating? before you decide, and use these tools freely for practice, where the rules are on your side.
